In Loving Memory of William Fogel William Fogel, a devoted husband, proud Navy veteran, and lifelong resident of the Cincinnati area, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. Early Life and Service Born in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Harry and Grace Fogel (nee Roden), Bill’s life was defined from an early age by a deep sense of duty. He honorably served as a Navy Corpsman aboard the USS Saint Paul during the Korean War. His experiences at sea, caring for his fellow sailors and Marines, forged the character of a man who was both resilient and profoundly dedicated to others—traits that would define his distinguished 56-year career in the insurance industry. The Heart of Fogel Insurance In 1968, Bill founded the Fogel Insurance Agency. More than just a business owner, he was a trusted advisor and a steadfast advocate for his clients. His work ethic was legendary, and he continued to serve the community alongside his sons until 2024. To Bill, his clients were an extension of his family, and he treated every policy with the same integrity and care he gave to his own home. Family and Legacy At the center of Bill’s world was his beloved wife, Dorothy Fogel, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was a man who led by example, instilling in his children the values of hard work and loyalty, always accompanied by his trademark witty sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Mark Gottesman, Tedd Fogel, and Renee Barone; his sister, Deanna Altman; his daughter-in-law, Debbe Gottesman; and his son-in-law, John Barone. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Caplan. Bill’s greatest joy was his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Brice Gottesman, Atara Pinto, Shira Schwartz, Jessica Federman, and Samantha and Lilly Barone, as well as his five cherished great-grandchildren. Service Information A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Rest Haven Memorial Park (10209 Plainfield Rd, Blue Ash, OH 45241). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s honor to Hospice of Cincinnati (HOC). Fair winds and following seas.
