Kathleen Hetrick, a beloved resident of Loveland, OH, departed this life on August 2, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 30, 1943, Kathleen brought joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack G. Hetrick of Loveland, OH, and cherished family members Ryan Cooper and his wife Karla, along with their children Ryan Jr., Erik, and Kaitlynn of Margate, FL and Cynthia, Mark, Evan and Hunter Strittmatter of Indiana, PA. Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving parents, Victor and Mary Sullivan, and her brother, Victor Sullivan Jr., of Pittsburgh, PA. Kathleen's passion for higher education and nursing was evident throughout her life. She graduated from California State College in 1968 with a Diploma in Nursing and earned her MA Degree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, in 1970, along with other postgraduate achievements. As a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse since 1965, Kathleen dedicated her career to serving others, holding various staff and leadership positions at hospitals in the Pittsburgh area. She concluded her distinguished nursing career at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Pittsburgh and Richmond, VA. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathleen had a deep love for animals, especially German Shepherds. She rescued many dogs throughout her life, providing them with loving forever homes. Her compassion extended to all creatures, and her dedication to animal welfare was unwavering. Kathleen also found joy in traveling, particularly her trips to Ireland, where her grandparents were born before immigrating to the United States. These journeys connected her to her heritage and brought her immense happiness. Kathleen's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to love, compassion, and dedication. There will not be a local service. Kathleen’s final resting place with be at St. Bernards Cemetery, Indiana, PA where Jacks family have been laid to rest. In honor of Kathleen's memory, individuals may consider making a donation to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Rd, Indiana, PA 15701, where she adopted her most recent German Shepherd, or to an animal rescue organization of their choosing.
