Marvin N. Kaplan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and devoted dentist, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 17, with his wife, Rella, by his side. Marvin dedicated nearly 40 years to caring for the Clifton, OH community through his dental practice—a profession he approached not just with skill, but with deep compassion. His commitment to his patients was matched only by the love he held for his family. He shared a special bond with his daughter, Lori, whose care and wellbeing he supported with unwavering devotion and a full heart. His loving relationship and partnership with Rella brought many joys and adventures. They loved traveling together to the American Southwest, where Marvin captured the sweeping landscapes through his photography while Rella sketched scenes she later brought to life as paintings. Supporting her artistic passion was one of the many ways Marvin expressed his deep love and appreciation for her. Marvin and Rella built a rich and joyful life centered around family, friends, and shared passions. He instilled in his children a lifelong love of boating, a legacy that continues on through his son Josh and his family. Marvin treasured his friendships—many stretching back to elementary and high school—and these lifelong bonds were a constant source of purpose, laughter, and joy. In the last fifteen years, Marvin embraced one of the greatest joys of his life: being a playful and loving grandfather to his granddaughters, Sedona and Zia. His eyes lit up in their presence, and the role brought him renewed purpose and happiness. Marvin enjoyed the finer things—good bourbon, great wine, and, most of all, extraordinary people. He will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and the deep love he showed to those around him. He will be missed and cherished forever. Marvin is survived by his wife, Rella Kaplan; his son, Josh Kaplan; his daughter-in-law, Brooke Kaplan; his brothers, Scott Kaplan and Larry Kaplan; and his granddaughters, Sedona and Zia Kaplan. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ida Kaplan, and his daughter, Lori Kaplan. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
