Dr. Susan Perlman, age 71, passed away on July 6, 2022. Beloved wife of 39 years to Steven Perlman, MD; devoted mother of Andrea (Stephen) Britcher, and Brent Perlman; loving grandmother to Emmett Britcher; dear sister to Philip (Lynda) Welch IV and Terry Turner. Brother and sister-in-laws include Dr. Mark (Irina) Perlman, Edward (Pamela) Perlman, Judi (Eric) Kline, mother-in-law Phyllis Perlman, and many loved nieces and nephews. Susan was predeceased by her parents Georgette Welch and Dr. Philip Welch III, step-mother Virginia Welch, mother and father-in-law Harold and Libby Perlman, sister-in-law Jackie Perlman, and nephew, Evan Perlman, all of blessed memory. Susan was born in Columbus, Ohio, but as the daughter of a military physician, she spent most of her childhood growing up in many different cities across the country and around Europe. She attended The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in microbiology. She obtained her medical degree at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Evanston Hospital, an affiliate of Northwestern University. While in medical school, Susan met the love of her life, Steve. They settled in Cincinnati to start their careers and raise a family. Susan built a private practice in Internal Medicine in Blue Ash. She was loved and respected by her many patients for her competency and knowledge. She treated all her patients with the utmost compassion, empathy, and dignity. For the past decade, she worked at the cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation center at TriHealth Pavilion. Although her career was important, Susan dedicated much of her adult life to her family. She was an incredible cook and hostess, taking great joy in bringing people together for a holiday meal or celebration. Susan thoroughly enjoyed traveling as well as art, art history, and all sports. The TV was regularly on for Reds and Bengals games. We’ve lost a wonderful spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. May her memory be a blessing. Services will be held on Friday, July 8 at 10:30 AM at Weil Kahn Funeral Home, 8350 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow the service. The family requests that all attendees wear masks indoors. Friends and family are also invited to livestream the service at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/75762. Shiva will be observed Saturday 7/9, Sunday, 7/10, and Monday 7/11, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, with minyan services beginning at 6:30 PM at the home of Steven and Susan, 3615 Tiffany Ridge Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45241. The family requests that all attendees wear masks indoors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Planned Parenthood would be greatly appreciated.
