He was the devoted father of Dr. Dale Edlin and wife Marla of New Jersey, Dr. Brian Edlin and wife Sara of New York, Mr. Jory Edlin and Ms Carol Hackett of Cincinnati and Dr. Lisa Lawrence of Mendon, MA. He was grandfather of Joshua, Rachel, Benjamin, Sarah, Henry, Anina & Jakoby. His great grandchildren are Jack & Madison Edlin, Maya, Ethan, and Leia Selekman,. His enthusiasm, values, and dedication to family were always paramount. Starting from humble beginnings, Dr. Edlin lived a long, remarkable, and inspiring life. Always energetic, he is remembered for his bright, inquisitive, and thoughtful mind, his high moral character, and his dedication to his family, his patients, and his Jewish heritage. Devoted to Jewish values and tradition, and a labor Zionist since childhood, he served on the board of Cincinnati Community Hebrew Schools, was a lifelong member of Ohav Shalom (subsequently Etz Chaim) Synagogue, chaired the Cincinnati celebration of Israel's Independence Day in 1972, frequently visited Israel, and supported Jewish institutions in Cincinnati. An avid sailor, Dr. Edlin loved to sail on the Ohio River and took sailing cruises to Block Island, in the Caribbean, and on the Chesapeake Bay. Playing squash and winning tournaments well into his 80s, Dr. Edlin maintained his fitness before the current emphasis on exercising began. He shared his love for singing with his children, often harmonizing Jewish songs old and new. His dedication to family, to Medicine, to Israel and to the Cincinnati Jewish Community will be missed.
