Nancy Rosenthal Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

(Cincinnati) Nancy Ann (nee Goldberg) Rosenthal passed away on June 1, 2022 from Alzheimer’s disease. Beloved wife of Edward S. Rosenthal for 65 years. Devoted mother of Lori Rosenthal, Susan (Gerry) Lozano and Beverly (Chad) Hoover. Loving Grandmother of Adam and Andrew Kozlove, Kevin (Rachael) and Ethan Lozano, Chase and Sydney Hoover. Born on September 23, 1936, and raised in Dunbar, WV, Nancy went on to graduate from the Ohio State University with a degree in music education. In 1957 Ed and Nancy married and shared a beautiful and devoted life together. Nancy left teaching to help raise the girls and became an involved activist and volunteer. She was dedicated to the community, serving throughout her life on the boards of many organizations including the Delta Phi Epsilon (President) at OSU, Cincinnati Opera, the Taft Museum, Jewish Community Relations Council, HUC Skirball Museum, Wyoming Junior Women’s Club (President), Friends of CCM, Unquotes, Contemporary Club and the National Council of Jewish Women (President). A passion for travel led Nancy to see much of the world. During her trips to China, Nancy developed relationships with artists and art dealers creating, with her husband, an incredible Chinese Art Collection. One of the many highlights of her life was when the Taft Museum exhibited their collection in 2008. Nancy had a deep love for gardening. She transformed her yard into award-winning gardens, and it was often open to tours from local and national garden clubs. Nancy is survived by her sister Deidra (Jim) Doria, and in-laws Donna Goldberg, Dick (Kitty) Rosenthal, Henrita Rosenthal along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Jerome and Alma Goldberg, siblings Sylvia (Marty) Goldman, Jerry Goldberg and in-laws Tomme Rosenthal, Sally Lynch and John Rosenthal. Nancy was a breast cancer survivor and made the most of each day. She led a full life and made a difference with everything she did. Donations in her memory may be made to the Taft Museum, Cincinnati Opera, Planned Parenthood or the charity of your choice. Services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022, 11:00 am at Weil Kahn Funeral Home, 8350 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249. Visitation begins at 10:00 am. Burial will follow.
