Julian A. Magnus

May 12, 1930 - June 7, 2022

JULIAN A. MAGNUS (Veteran) Magnus, Julian A., age 92, passed away among family members June 7, 2022,son of the late Julian and Edith (Metzger) Magnus, beloved husband of Carol Frank Magnus, devoted father of Richard A. Magnus and Nancy (Rabbi Sandford) Kopnick, dear brother of the late Joseph and William Magnus, doting grandfather of Jonathan, Danny and Alex Kopnick. Julian graduated from Walnut Hills High School and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in finance. After two years with the army, anchoring the southern end of the Iron Curtain in Trieste, Italy, Julian returned home to Cincinnati, joining the family municipal bond firm of Magnus and Company, where he worked until the firm closed and he retired. Julian was an active volunteer, serving as President of Valley Temple, President of the Rotary Club of Cincinnati, Volunteer Coordinator for Jewish Vocational Service, a driver for the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Red Cross and a patient transporter at Bethesda North Hospital. Julian loved sailing, fishing, and was an avid bridge player. Services Valley Temple, 145 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Ohio 45215, Thursday, June 9, 10:30 A.M. Visitation begins at the temple at 9:30 A.M. A Private Burial will follow. Friends may call on the family Thursday only 6:30 to 9:00 P.M. with a service at 7:00 P.M. at the residence of Nancy and Sandford Kopnick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Valley Temple or Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati would be appreciated.
