Harold “Hal” Brown Cincinnati- age 89, passed away January 6, 2020, beloved husband of Elaine C. Brown, loving father of Betsy (Steve) Blumenthal, Alan (Christie) Brown, Natalie (Lou) Dennis, Beverly (Aaron) Lesser & Dina (Mustapha Houssein) Brown, dear brother of Estelle (Sanford) Katz & Bernard Brown. Cherished grandfather of 9 & great grandfather of 6. Hal retired from a 42-year career as a mechanical engineer at GE in 1992 and followed with several years as a contractor, then as an educator for the Osher Lifelong Learning program. He then continued working as a hobby to find a way for a manned mission to Mars – getting someone there AND back. His other hobbies included playing bridge, wine tasting, and woodworking. He rose to the challenge of filling leadership roles when needed. During World War II, when all the men had been deployed, as the oldest Boy Scout in his troop, he was called upon to be the Scout leader. He again served as a Scout leader when his son was in Scouts. He was also a past president at Temple Sholom. Funeral services will be at Weil Kahn Funeral Home, 8350 Cornell Rd., Cincinnati, on Thursday, January 9, at 12:30 PM. Interment following services at Rest Haven Memorial Park 10209 Plainfield Rd. Evendale, OH 45241.
