    Aaron "Ace" Charles Tumen

    November 4, 1927 - July 28, 2014

TUMEN, Aaron Charles “Ace” passed away peacefully, Monday, July 28, at age 86 while surrounded by his family. Beloved husband and soul mate of the late Betty Ann Davis for 57 wonderful years. Devoted father of David (Patty), Steven (Nancy), and Lynn. Loving “Pop Pop” of Sara, Jimmy, Grant, Emily, Matthew and the late Jason. Dearest brother of Tina (Allan) Grossman. Fond uncle of Debra Venn and Bari (Michael) Mairose and great uncle to Anna Mairose and cousin of John (Timmie) Weisbaum. Born in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey on November 4, 1927, Aaron attended Syracuse University. He moved to Cincinnati where he started his long career in the family business, Beau Brummel Ties , where he remained for 33 years. The move turned out to be serendipitous as Aaron met and married his one true love in 1951. After serving as a Sergeant during the Korean War, he and Betty built the first house on Dot Drive in Amberley Village in 1958 and remained there the rest of their lives. Together they founded Brass Eagle Antiques and pursued their passion for buying, selling, appraising, restoring and preserving fine antiques and collectibles. Aaron was also gatherer of fine people. His friendships were broad and crossed generations. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 3:30pm at Weil Funeral Home, 8350 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249. Friends may call on the family at his residence Wednesday immediately following the interment until 9:00PM and Thursday 5:00-9:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati or a charity of the individual’s choice.
