Jeannie Fretwell

Jeannie Fretwell passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 71 years old. Jeannie lived life with a joyful spirit, an open heart, and a gift for making everyone feel like family. Whether you had known her for years or had just met her, you were always welcomed with warmth, kindness, and genuine conversation. She had an infectious laugh, a generous heart, and a way of making life’s ordinary moments feel special. Jeannie enjoyed a successful career as a scientist at Procter & Gamble, where her intelligence, curiosity, and dedication reflected the same qualities she carried throughout every aspect of her life. Above all else, Jeannie’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her daughters, Katelyn and Sarah, more than life itself, and nothing made her happier than spending time with those she loved. She shared countless cherished adventures with her beloved husband, from relaxing trips to the Bahamas with dear friends to treasured summers spent at Lake Cumberland, where some of her happiest memories were made. Jeannie had a deep love for animals and a compassionate spirit that extended to everyone she met. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures—a beautiful sunset over the lake, time with family and friends, a glass of Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, and, when the occasion called for it, a celebratory shot of tequila. She believed life was meant to be enjoyed and made sure the people around her enjoyed it too. She is survived by her loving family, whose lives are forever richer because of her unconditional love, unwavering support, and endless encouragement. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort knowing her love, laughter, and vibrant spirit will continue to guide them every day. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to wear bright, colorful attire in honor of Jeannie’s beautiful spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the SPCA of Cincinnati in Jeannie’s memory, honoring her lifelong love of animals. Though our hearts are broken, we are endlessly grateful for the years we shared with Jeannie. Her kindness, strength, laughter, and unconditional love will remain with us always. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friendships she cherished, and the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.
