Cheri Wilhelm

Cheri Wilhelm passed away on Saturday November 5, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Cheri was born on June 11, 1956 in Greenville, OH to Dorothy and Jackson Murdock. She met her husband, Michael Wilhelm, while attending the University of Cincinnati and they were married on March, 18, 1977. Cheri began teaching in 1979 and taught in numerous schools until her retirement in 2014. During her career, she completed her MS in Education. She had a passion for teaching and was loved by all of her students and coworkers. Cheri also tutored students in various subjects, taking special interest in helping autistic students and those with learning disabilities. Cheri loved reading, writing, and telling stories and never met a stranger. She never missed a chance to talk about her three children and their spouses whom she adored: Christopher (Monica), Meghan (Zach), and Lindsay (Ryan). She excitedly took on the role of “Nana” and loved showing off pictures of all eight of her grandchildren every chance she got. Cheri was an avid traveler and rarely went long without planning a trip and especially loved traveling with Mike. In recent years, they purchased a small house in Florida and she eagerly anticipated their trips down there. When in Cincinnati, she loved spending time in her “Secret Garden” that Mike created for her in their backyard. Cheri also enjoyed spending time with her mother, Dot, with whom she shared a close relationship. Friends and family were everything to Cheri and she will be greatly missed by the many whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her father, Jackson Murdock. She is survived by her mother, Dot; her husband, Mike; her three children Chris, Meghan, and Lindsay as well as their spouses; her eight grandchildren Kaylynn, Alex, Jackson, Lorelei, Michael, Alexandria, Gavin, and Liam; her brothers Mark and Jeff as well as their spouses and children; and countless aunts and cousins. Cheri was always proud of her triumph over breast cancer. In lieu of flowers, we ask you donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at bcrf.org so others may have the same chance. A celebration of life is being held November 17 from 6pm - 8pm at the Blue Ash Civic League.
