Arthur Jerry Minton

Arthur (Jerry) Minton at the age of 79 passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15,2021 with members of his family at his side. He was the son of Elmer and Moela Minton. He is survived by his beloved wife Shelley, his two sons Christopher Minton and Drew Brown; Christopher’s wife Gretchen and their two children Dennis and Madeline; Drew’s wife Debbie and their daughter Nina. His youngest sister, Nancy Patterson lives in Vermont. He was predeceased by Christopher and Drew’s mother Jane Brown and his younger sister Rita Ferguson. Jerry was adored by Shelley’s four children, Brando Triantafillou and his wife Molli, Eric Triantafillou and his wife Csilla Kosa, Sebastian Triantafillou, Katrina Triantafillou and her husband Nick Fryer and six grandchildren; Endre, Rowan,Mia,Olivia ,Soren and Julian. Jerry was a devoted father and thoroughly enjoyed all of his grandchildren. He loved clowning around with them and making them laugh! After graduating from Withrow High School he served in the Army Reserves and was stationed at Fort Knox. He earned his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati. After graduating he worked as a professor in Philosophy at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he co-authored a book ‘Philosophy; Paradox & Discovery’ used in several university curriculums for many years. His life changed significantly when he pursued a new career in Financial Management. He eventually founded his own company in Cincinnati, Alpha Investment Management,Inc. where he continued to work until December 2020. Jerry loved classical music, visual art and sculpture. He spent many long hours in his studio passionately sculpting with clay. Later he learned to work with metal, making contemporary creations with this new medium. He constantly had new clay sculptures in the kiln ready for firing and glazing. His imagination was limitless as he created new pieces prolifically. Jerry and Shelley spent most of their years together on their country horse farm in Covington, KY. They loved the beauty and solitude of living in the country and enjoyed gardening and caring for their horses and the land. Private services in celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your favorite charity in remembrance of Jerry.
